On February 10, Korea University Sejong Campus, through its Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Amazon Web Services (hereinafter AWS) Korea at the Research and Business Cooperation Building for the opening of the ‘Sejong–Daejeon–Chungcheong AWS AI Training Center.’

This agreement was promoted to cultivate AI specialists and AX (AI Transformation) convergence human resources linked to regionally specialized industry demand, and to advance practice-oriented AI research and business cooperation-centered education.

The two institutions plan to jointly promote, centered on the AI Training Center to be established within Korea University Sejong Campus: △ joint development and operation of AI curricula △ matching mentoring between AWS internal and external AI experts and students △ identification and recruitment of AI companies for practical training △ field training △ hosting of capstone design and research and business cooperation joint projects.

Relatedly, this agreement is also closely linked with the Korea University Sejong SW-Centered University Project and regional innovation policies. Through the AI Training Center, the plan is to expand joint research and development (R&D) projects with AI companies and simultaneously promote talent cultivation and demonstration-centered technology development in the Sejong 5+1 future strategic industries, including information security, future mobility, and digital healthcare, as well as in the field of AI administration.
